The Roman glass master, Ennion, achieved for glass what Gutenberg achieved for book printing: he completely transformed the medium for centuries to come. For our design of “Ennion and his Legacy,” we were asked to PRESERVE all the design architecture from our previous exhibit in these space, which was an angular “black tie” exhibit on the elegant French designer Rene Lalique. To do this, we transformed the inner “forest” of columns into a floating garden of glass, and covered the angled walls with blow-ups of Roman mosaics to create an immersive viewer experience.

A special feature o this exhibit was a demonstration table formed from transparent and translucent thick acrylic that mimicked the clever “basket weave” in glass cups that was original to Ennion himself.
