Kingsbridge Heights Community Center
This new building for the KHCC will house classrooms, offices, therapy rooms and a large community room. It’s designed to be the flagship building on a campus of three free-standing structures with extensive hardscapes and gardens surrounding. The image evoked is of a unifying pattern, based on the triangulated silhouette of people standing together and holding hands, which is within the KHCC logo. The façade uses MEG WALL, a composite exterior panelized system that comes in a wide variety of colors and can be printed.
Some of the panels will be of murals that were made by the KHCC community members. Since the building
does not require operable windows, we took some liberties with the glass! A shade company is providing
the custom triangle window treatments, using a basic shade cut on the diagonal.
