This project involved the renovation of historic Gottesman Hall and the renovation and redesign of the Wachenheim Room of the library’s historic main branch on 42nd street and 5th avenue. Imrey Culbert designed new steel and glass display cases, a reusable modular partition wall system, and state-of-the-art lighting systems.

We designed a flexible casework system of free-standing movable wall cases with fiber-optic lighting and incase LED lighting - the first of its kind. Restoration of the ornate wood ceilings and integrated lighting were a collaboration with lighting designer Suzan Tillotson of Tillotson Design Associates.
