Private Library renovation
Instead of an external expansion to this beautiful, historic library building, we proposed looking inside for space. By lifting the opaque double-hip roof and replacing it with glass, we were able to transform the expansive but unused attic space into a soaring new Study Center atop the rest of the existing library.
Given this private institution has need-blind admissions, it is appropriate to have only a real “glass ceiling” between the great ideas formed here and the rest of the world.
