The Foundry Arts Project, a non-profit organization, is set to revitalize and transform eight acres in Cleveland's South-Midtown area into a dynamic and inclusive arts incubator. This sustainable real estate project will create a vibrant space where artists from all backgrounds and disciplines can come together to create, collaborate, and thrive.

Imrey Studio was engaged to develop a conceptual design for the pre-existing building and site at 2469 E. 71st St. The building and site have been abandoned for many years. The designs feature light-filled studios, communal spaces, and an entry portal reminiscent of the original use of the building as a foundry. Also included is new parking lot with permeable paving, and a new loading dock.
    This includes:
  • Economic Model Testing: Exploring various economic models to ensure a sustainable vision that meets the needs of resident artists and the surrounding community.
  • Sustainability Focus: Emphasizing the repurposing of materials and sustainable design practices.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility: Ensuring the project meets the needs of a diverse range of artists and community members.

The Foundry Arts Incubator aims to foster a vibrant arts community in Cleveland, offering a supportive environment where creativity and collaboration can flourish.
