The Morgan Library's major expansion, designed by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, opened in 2006. Imrey Culbert was hired at mid-point of construction to review gallery designs and finishes and to develop the permanent casework for the new wing and the three historic galleries that comprise the campus of Morgan homes. In addition we designed the opening gallery installations for the remodeled museum.

Our design focused on developing a permanent "casework family" that resides seamlessly in both the contemporary and historic spaces of the new Morgan. It features soft leather hand rests for numerous table cases, in-case LED lighting, and an innovative book mount display system that literally floats the books on the decks of the cases.
